Course Objectives

Upon the successful completion of this Online Workplace Violence Training Course,  learners will have the ability to:

  • Retain competence in describing general legislation pertaining to workplace violence and the find specific information regarding federal and provincial legislation
  • Demonstrate recognition of risk factors associated with workplace violence and harassment
  • Confidently describe what workplace violence and harassment is and why it’s a significant problem that exists in workplaces
  • Demonstrate familiarity with and ability to exercise rights, roles and responsibilities pertaining to violence in the workplace
  • Demonstrate competence in the recognition of workplace violence prevention programs and their individual elements
  • Demonstrate knowledge of varying scenarios of where workplace violence in prevalent and the ability to take precautions to minimize the risk of violence
  • React appropriately taking the necessary measures to prevent potentially violent scenarios from escalating as well as to specific incidents where violence has occurred

What Country, State or Province is this course applicable to?
There are currently two versions of Eversafe Media’s Online Workplace Violence Training course; A general edition that is applicable to U.S. Employers and Workers, as well as a specialized Canadian Edition that contains additional information regarding specific Canadian legislative requirements and responsibilities.  With the exception of the legislative differences, both versions contain the same content and can be used to train employees in countries other than the U.S. and Canada.

Who should take this course?
This Online Workplace Violence Training course should be taken by all employees, including supervisors, managers and executives, working in an organization where a risk of Violence exists.  In Canada, specific legislation exists requiring that all employees receive training pertaining to Workplace Violence.

How long does it take to complete the course?
The course takes approximately 90 minutes to complete.  Due to several variables including varying learning styles, this time can vary significantly.

How long are the certificates good for?
There are no expiry dates on our Workplace Violence Training certificates.  It’s up to an employer to determine how often their employees are required to receive this training based on many variables.

Is this course compliant?
Eversafe Media’s Online Workplace Violence Training Course far exceeds the training requirements resulting from Ontario’s amendment to the Occupational Health and Safety Act regarding Violence in the Workplace (Bill 168).

This course also exceeds all general training requirements associated with Federal, Provincial and OSHA’s (U.S.) “General Duty” clause.  The implementation of additional specific measures and controls within the workplace will be required in exceptional and specific circumstances
